Prayer and Fasting re-aligns us with the presence and purposes of God. The King has issued a Royal invitation into His presence and no excuse is big enough to miss what He has planned.
One of our early Church Fathers, Saint Basil the Great (330-379) preached,
“Fasting gives birth to prophets and strengthens the powerful; fasting makes lawgivers wise. Fasting is a good safeguard for the soul, a steadfast companion of the body, a weapon for the valiant, and a gymnasium for athletes. Fasting repels temptations, anoints unto piety [reverence for God]; it is the comrade of watchfulness and the artificer [skilled craftsman] of chastity [purity]. In war it fights bravely, in peace it teaches stillness.”

Our toolkit for your time of prayer and fasting includes the following:
- The Prayer and Fasting Guide will be your road map as you seek God during this time. Each week you will have an overall focus, broken down into daily prayer targets. It will serve as a starting point as the Holy Spirit leads you how to pray.
- Our January 2021 Sermon Series focused on feeding our intellect with God’s Word concerning prayer and fasting. It will provide you with essential knowledge necessary to make the most of our time.
- Our Prayer Calendar (located inside the Prayer and Fasting Guide) will help you keep track of your prayer goals. **UPDATE** We have decided to move our Prayer and Fasting to begin on January 10 instead of January 3 as shown on the calendar in the booklet.
May God richly bless you during this time!
